Reinforced for the future:

Trilytics + Proxxima™ GFRP Integration: a powerful partnership redefining slab systems with lower emissions, greater strength, and safer installation.

Case Study: Deep Freezer Facility with automated racking

Re-engineering a 127,000 square foot slab with Proxxima™-based GatorBar for performance and sustainability.

The Conventional Slab Challenge

For a recently completed 127,000 square foot freezer facility with a 95-foot clear height, Trilytics was engaged to re-engineer the conventional slab design in support of a highly automated racking system. The original slab, designed to accommodate extremely tall racks and robotic picking system, was modeled as a 16” thick slab-on-grade, reinforced with #4 grade 60 rebar at 12” OCEW (top) and #6 grade 60 rebar at 8” OCEW (bottom). This represented a heavily reinforced, high-cost, and high-carbon footprint design.

Trilytics Slab Optimization

Through Trilytics’ delegated design approach, we provided a 12” thick slab using a single layer of #4 Proxxima™-based composite rebar at 12” OCEW (bottom only).

GFRP Rebar Powered by Proxxima™

By integrating Proxxima™-based GFRP, we eliminated key durability issues in wet storage environments—removing corrosion risk and significantly extending slab performance over time.

Results that matter

Steel Elimination:

Removed approximately 370 tonnes of reinforcing steel, which dramatically reduced the embodied carbon and material handling

Concrete Volume Reduction:

Cutting the slab thickness by four (4) inches resulted in significant material and cost savings.

Cement Optimization:

Our proprietary liquid additives and strength enhances enabled a lower cement content mix while still exceeding strength targets.

Performance Gains:

The optimized slab design increased loading capacity by over 200%, supporting the demands of high-bay racking and automation.

The outcome

Sustainability Without Compromise

By combining TriSLAB with Proxxima based GFRP, we are delivering high-performance, low-carbon slab systems —ideal for industrial, warehouse, and logistics projects focused on durability, efficiency and ESG alignment.

“Choosing to exclusively position Proxxima™-based rebar was a natural fit. ExxonMobil’s Proxxima™ business and Trilytics share a common goal of delivering high-performance, sustainable solutions.”
